Danny plays fiddle and contributes background vocals, along with some lead singing. He brings to the band a welcomed depth of knowledge that stems from exposure to many types of music, although his earliest interests were favored toward old-time bluegrass. Danny has been associated with the Sheppards from an early age when he and Mike became good friends and began picking together. Danny has played with The Sheppard Brothers for many years and was the banjo player for the vast majority of those years. He has also played with other local bands, one being Surefire where he spent three years. Danny's presence gives all the members an opportunity to try different things as a band. He has recently retired from the WV Army National Guard and now enjoys building hot rods and working in his shop. Danny and his wife Linda now live in Walker, West Virginia and have 5 children Angela, Dave, Amy, Missy, and Danny Jr. plus nine wonderful grandchildren. |
